Het doel van de surfschool is om straat- en sloppenwijkkinderen een betere toekomst te bieden. Door ze competentie gericht surfles te geven zullen ze doorzettingsvermogen, discipline en zelfvertrouwen ontwikkelen. Hier heeft de hele samenleving van Kayar profijt van. De kinderen zullen ook leren hoe je met afval omgaat en hoe belangrijk het is om duurzaam met de natuur om te gaan. En vooral houdt het surfen ze in het water en van de straat.

Traditionally, the roots of the art of surfing are attributed directly to the ancient members of the Hawaiian royalty. The art of surfing was considered "the sport of kings". But guess where surfing was invented way before any surfboard set foot on the surf meca of Hawaii?
There is evidence suggesting that the ancient inhabitants of the Peruvian coast surfed amazing waves three thousands years ago. It is said that the first men, who experienced the pleasure of surfing, were Peruvian fishermen who used canoes created specifically for entering and leaving the sea. Don’t you think they must have thought of entering the sea for the pure pleasure of just surfing some good waves?
Today, the coast of Northern Peru and its world-class surfing conditions attract surfers from all over the world. Sadly, coastal communities rarely benefit from this surf tourism and continue to suffer from limited educational and economic opportunities.
Educational Surf Programs will prepare community youth to take advantage of existing opportunities and create new ones. Surfing and sustainable development meet in this project for disadvantaged youth. In the coastal community of Lobitos children get free surflessons and education in English, environmental care, entrepeneurship and sustainable development. Local youth build personal and social skills and learn the value of environmental conservation while sharing the surf STOKE!!!
